I enjoy caring for my herd of German Angora rabbits. The decadent fiber they gift me, provides the basis for my custom decadence yarns and spinning fiber. . Adding color to these and my other yarn lines is the start of every exciting knit/crochet project.
I'm a spinner, (both spindle and wheel), a knitter, and I crochet. I process raw fleeces, I dye fiber and yarn. Spinning is my favorite calm time, knitting is my excitement! Watching shapes and patterns develop doing colorwork (Faire Isle) is so fun! Next up to try, is going to be weaving! What craft techniques do you specialize in? Do you have a favorite art form?
When I was eight years old, my grandmother came home with a project she had started in a community education class on knitting. She had about 2 inches of garter stitch done. She said it was the most boring thing she had ever done and set it down. I picked it up. The rest is history. I still have those Susan Bates size 8 needles I enjoy fiber arts of all types and try new techniques on a regular basis. It's been all about the yarn and knitting!
